5 Ways to Read Windows Event Logs

  1. Event Viewer application (eventvwr.msc or eventvwr.exe)
  2. Command Line: wevutil.exe
  3. WMI/COM Scripting: VBscript, KiXtart, Javascript, Perl, etc.
  4. .NET Scripting: PowerShell
  5. Collectors and Forwarders: wecutil.exe
